We are thrilled to announce that Auf Al Bulushi, Executive Director – Subsea Cables Business from Ithca will be joining Touchdown Middle East 2024 as a speaker! Auf will feature on our panel ‘The Middle East Expansion: How is digital infrastructure rising in the region and will we cope with demand?’ taking place on Day 1 of the conference, 26th November at 10:55.
This panel will look at the reasons for the Middle East’s rapid growth of its data centre market and how the industry intends to maintain this upward trajectory and cope with the wave of demand.
Speaker Bio:
Auf is a high-profile telecom executive with more than 20 years’ work experience in the ICT domain. He is currently the Executive Director Subsea Cables Business within Oman ICT Group (ITHCA), responsible for developing the strategic direction of the company in Subsea Cables business and supporting Business Plan, formulating the product portfolio and pricing, and ensuring that all key company targets are met.
One of Auf’s key priorities has been to focus on the development of high caliber people, supporting them to deliver high value to the benefit of the overall organization. He is passionate in driving the industry and the economy of Oman and aiming to stimulate regional development within the country and helping to create new jobs for talented young Omanis.
During the last 20 years Auf has worked at several senior levels in different organizations. He played a key role in setting the grounds for the National Broadband Network under Haya Water, where he worked as Commercial Manager. In 2014 the scope of the project was enlarged to cover the whole of Oman aligned with government’s vision of building a sustainable knowledge-based economy which transitioned into the creation of Oman Broadband. He then transferred to Oman Broadband where he planted the seeds of commercial success. Whilst there he has developed his career further with roles that included GM of Commercial Affairs and GM for Network Planning, GM of Corporate Strategy.
Auf began his career with incumbent Omantel dealing with telecommunication billing, and then moved to Ooredoo in 2006 where he worked in several roles until he became Manager of the Wholesale and Interconnection department.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Sultan Qaboos University and an MBA from The University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK.
