We are thrilled to announce that Gareth Mills, Partner from Charles Russell Speechlys will be joining Touchdown Middle East 2024 as a speaker! Gareth will feature on our panel ‘A data sovereignty and regulations deep-dive: What do we need to know?’ taking place on Day 1 of the conference, 26th November at 12:40.
This panel will look at the complex regulatory landscape that GCC data centre owners and operators must navigate. Representatives from GCC law firms will come together to share their findings and insights into the future of data laws across the GCC.
“I am delighted to be attending the second Touchdown event in Bahrain and to be asked to speak on the increasingly complex world of regulatory data compliance that is affecting all companies in the regional data centre conversation. As the industry scales up in the region a deep understanding of the regulatory and legal environment of the GCC states is of clear and obvious importance and I am looking forward to discussing the current status and direction of travel with fellow professionals at the event.”
‘Gareth advises on commercial dispute resolution, regulatory and competition matters, international arbitrations and corporate restructuring with a particular focus on the TMT sector. Gareth has represented regulators, operators and ICT companies in a broad range of disputes relating to the communications and technology sector, including in relation to IRU Agreements, Landing Party Agreements, JV Agreements and regulatory compliance. Gareth has an international practice having spent over 12 years working in our Middle East offices and has been consistently ranked in Global directories for his arbitration and disputes work.’
