We are excited to announce that Pieter Schaap, Director from Soben will be joining Touchdown Middle East 2024 as a speaker! Pieter will join our panel ‘Establishing the GCC as a global data centre hub: Unpacking the drivers of demand and investment’ taking place on Day 1 of the conference, 26th November at 11:30.
This panel will look at the opportunities and challenges of developing and investing in data centres in the GCC region and what advantages the GCC can offer in comparison to its global counterparts.
Pieter Schaap is Soben’s data centre lead for the EMEA region. In his role, he is responsible for all workstreams associated with data centre project development, from pre-construction and construction to commissioning and operations. Besides his data centre responsibilities, Pieter is a global sustainability leader and at Soben, the subject matter specialist for all decarbonization initiatives.
His team is focused on creating meaningful partnerships with clients around the globe, driving innovation in project and cost management, design, construction and operations. Tackling industry challenges is always at the top of Pieter’s priorities and with a direct reporting line to the CEO, Pieter has helped Soben become a market leader in the data centre consultancy space.
Prior to Soben, Pieter was Supply Chain Director at Yondr Group, his first experience in the data centre industry after he worked in the oil & gas sector for over a decade including various international postings.
Today, Soben works with some of the world’s leading organizations who work on high value and complex projects across six continents.
